Chef Account Deletion

You can delete or request deletion of your Chef account.

1. In-app deletion

Chef is intended to provide an account deletion option inside the app. Go to:

Profile > Close my account

Follow the instructions shown in the app.

2. Alternative deletion request

If you cannot access the app or need help, contact hello@chefapp.co.uk.

Please include the email address linked to your Chef account. We may need to verify your request before deleting the account.

3. What deletion means

Account deletion is intended to remove your Chef account and associated personal data, including saved private recipes, uploaded content and profile information, except where limited retention is required or permitted for legal, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution or compliance reasons.

4. Published content

If you have published content to Chef’s Community area, deletion may remove or de-identify that content, subject to technical, legal and operational requirements.

5. Timing

We aim to process verified deletion requests within a reasonable period. Some data may remain temporarily in backups or logs before being deleted in the ordinary course of system maintenance.

Chef respects intellectual property rights. Users are responsible for ensuring that they have the right to upload, import, save or publish content through Chef.

If you believe content on Chef infringes your copyright, trademark or other rights, contact hello@chefapp.co.uk.

Your name and contact details
A description of the work or rights you believe are infringed
A description or link identifying the content in Chef
An explanation of why you believe the content infringes your rights
A statement that the information you provide is accurate
Any additional information that may help us review the complaint

2. What we may do

Chef may remove, restrict or disable access to content that appears to be infringing, unlawful, unsafe, misleading or otherwise problematic. We may also contact the user who posted or uploaded the content where appropriate.

Chef is designed to help with cooking, recipe organisation and recipe inspiration. It is not a substitute for professional advice.

1. AI cooking assistant

Chef’s AI assistant may provide recipe suggestions, cooking guidance, substitutions, conversions and general cooking help. AI responses may be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable for your circumstances.

You should independently check important information before relying on it.

2. Allergens and dietary requirements

Always check ingredients, labels, allergens and dietary suitability yourself. Do not rely on Chef or its AI assistant as your only source of allergy, intolerance, medical, nutritional or dietary information.

3. Food safety

You are responsible for safe food handling, storage, preparation and cooking. Always check cooking temperatures, expiry dates, hygiene guidance and food safety requirements from reliable sources.

4. No professional advice

Chef does not provide medical, nutritional, allergy, food safety, legal or other professional advice. If you have a health condition, allergy, dietary requirement or safety concern, seek advice from a qualified professional or reliable official source.
